Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence by Ryuichi Sakamoto, performed by Duel
Listen to this awesome piece of music first before reading any more.
Sound familiar? If you’re from Singapore, then chances are you’ve heard it a few times on TV, from the trailer of The Leap Years.
It’s a totally winsome song. Probably the only thing that got me somewhat interested in the movie. But not interested enough that I’d go to the cinemas to watch it – I don’t really like wasting money on things like movies, unless I really want to watch them.
So anyway, I finally found this song today, from the soundtrack of a movie called Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence. It’s composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto, apparently an Academy Award-winning, Grammy-winning, Golden Globe-winning Japanese musician, composer, producer and actor.
Lol. And here I was thinking that someone on this little island was so talented to have composed such an amazing piece. Apparently not.
Well it’s still an awesome song. Can’t stop listening to it!
Yup, love this song. I didn’t get to watch this, but I like it from listening on the trailers!
Wow, quite a good song, I reckon.
Ahhh…
Bring back memories
Somehow i missed the point. Probably lost in translation
