I’m feeling rather bored on Last.fm, so I shall attempt to get more people to join it =P
Last.fm is a music community website. What does that mean? Well, it’s a site where people can meet others based on their music tastes. Last.fm has a downloadable program which monitors your current playing song and submits the track information to the website, where it is recorded on your profile. (The application works with almost all music players, so no worries on that part)
Other than just recording your played tracks, they also give you weekly and overall charts of your top tracks and top artists. See that little section on my sidebar which shows the latest 5 songs I’ve listened to? That’s by Last.fm. You can have that on your blog as well ^^
And they also calculate your musical compatibility with other users, and list those you have high compatibility (meaning you listen to the same artists or type of music) as your neighbours so you can easily find other people with the same tastes as yourself. You can see what others are listening too as well. It’s really quite fun ^^
Also, they have radio stations which are customized for each user, according to their music tastes. You can also specify an artist, and it will play songs that are similar to those of that particular artist. Or you can choose to listen to your Neighbourhood, which is a mix of your Neighbours’ radio stations. A pretty good way to discover new songs, but I hardly listen to it.

I’ve already had an account for longer than I care to remember, from back before it merged with Audioscrobbler :/ Ah I miss those days when the site broke every other week, the radio never worked and charts updated like… once every 3 months if you were lucky
Still a pretty good site though, especially for anal ppl who tag every single one of their files correctly (like me). I shall add you too XD
