This is the first of my album reviews, I will be posting these reviews occasionally, as and when i stumble upon anything interesting.
Anyway, on with the review.
This is Younha’s first Korean album, released a few months ago. The first time i had heard of her was when she sang Houkiboshi, one of the endings for Bleach, which i liked a lot. The next of her singles that i found very catchy was Te wo Tsunaide. So when I saw the PV of one of the songs in this album, 비밀번호 486 (Secret Number 486), which i liked a lot too, I just had to get her album.
Younha’s music is like piano rock, sort of like Suemitsu & The Suemith, which I find makes her music unique and some of her songs like Houkiboshi and Te wo Tsunaide can be so extremely addictive.
고백하기 좋은 날 (The Perfect Day to Say I Love You)
1. Delete
First track, generic love-rock song. Not bad.
2. 꼬마 - I Cry
A ballad. One of the better ones in the album.
3. 비밀번호 486
Now this track sounds more like the usual upbeat, happy songs that Younha does. My favourite out of the whole album. 486 is a code that young people in Korea use to mean “I love you”. I have no idea why.
4. 고백하기 좋은 날
Another ballad. Pleasant to listen to, but doesn’t make a lasting impression.
5. Hello Beautiful Day
Weird song. Not to my liking.
6. 오늘만
Yet another ballad.
7. 연애조건
This one is nice. Relatively catchy, nice melody.
8. Fly
Another nice one. Style is back to rock, which is good.
9. 속마음
Ballad. Average.
10. 어린욕심 (Feat. 휘성)
This one is nice too. Rock, but not like her normal piano-heavy ones, this one has more guitar and some guys rapping as well.
11. 앨리스
Starts off sounding like just any other ballad, but the beat gets faster during the chorus and the drums come in, making it more of a rock song. Nice anyway.
12. 꼬마 - I Cry (Instrumental)
13. 비밀번호 486 (Instrumental)
Overall, this is a fun album to listen to, with only one track that I wouldn’t like hearing. The other songs are either just average, or they are good. 비밀번호 486 is my favourite track from this album, and if you liked it to then check out the PV.
Younha is always so cheerful and fun to watch in her PVs for this kind of song. Oh, and apparently it was her first kiss too.
the characters in 사랑해 has 4 strokes in the first part 8 in the second and 6 in the last.
Lol what an interesting, yet utterly odd way of short-forming something. I would’ve thought that 486 in Korean somehow sounded like ‘I love you’
Thanks for the information ^^
